Bio

Latifah currently lives and creates from her home and studio in the Allegheny
Foothills of Southern Pennsylvania. Her life is as rich and textured as her art.
She and her husband, Robert are hands-on parents of energetic six year
old triplets and are active in their spiritual community. When Latifah is not
creating art, she enjoys reading, travel, and playing with her children.

At a young age, Latifah was aware of the presence of art moving within. She
began receiving awards for her art as a child and in high school she won first
place in the state of Texas for her architectural rendering. She went on to
receive a degree in architecture from Texas A&M University. Studies in graphic
design and interests in typography and web design led to work in the Pacific Northwest. However, the need to create art as self expression became
compelling and the more she created, the more her passion to create was
inflamed. Following the birth of her triplets, she took a leap of faith and
began to create with the intention of working as a professional artist. Her
career was launched when she was invited to be the feature artist for the
opening of a coffee house gallery in Berkeley Springs, WV. The past few
years have been a blur of painting and child rearing. A series of coffeehouse
art shows and the completion of several commissions have provided a
platform for moving forward.
